Ethiopian Airlines is the title sponsor for the 2009 Great Ethiopian Run 10k international road race. The date of this year's international 10k is Sunday 22nd November 2009. More than 31,000 participants took part in the 2008 race - the biggest race ever on the African continent by participant numbers. The race's ambassador is Haile Gebrselassie who has been instrumental in the success of the event-managing organisation known as Great Ethiopian Run, credited with the birth of mass-participation running in Ethiopia.
